Kenya Emergency Famine Relief
 Drought and failed crops in Pokot, Kenya have left thousands of people dying of starvation. Siloam and Childcare Worldwide (CCW) respond to emergencies.
‘Emotions without actions to follow are meaningless!’ explains Dr. Max Lange of CCW. ‘We brought a truckload of food to Pokot at a cost of just £3000 enough to provide for about 400 people. But this will not last very long.’
Children are the most vulnerable and urgently require food.

Save the Starving Children
‘The people of Pokot are starving!’ was the urgent ‘phone call that alerted Dr. Max Lange of (CCW). He went to see the extent of this tragedy for himself and to take immediate action.
One little boy’s motionless body lay on a mat near the feet of his grandmother. She too needed help and looked much older than her 60 years. Both were lying under a tree.
‘Tumba is always sleeping,’ explained the local Kenyan minister. ‘There is no food for this two-year-old little boy and his family. At his young age, he is more vulnerable to starvation than adults. If there is no help for him, he is going to die!’ Dr. Lange could only wonder whether or not Tumba would survive.

 ‘A great number of young children and many mothers with their babies were already waiting for us,’ said Dr. Lange. They had been told that today there would be food, they would get a good meal.
‘How I rejoiced as the children lined up and I had the privilege to fill up their bowls with good, nourishing porridge…All got a meal!’
