Hey Everyone

Well with the World Cup over we thought we'd keep your interest in South Africa aflame...here is our latest update! We hope you are blessed by it as you read of God's faithfulness and goodness.

Emmersons Update July 2010

There is just one thing we'd like to ask for prayer for that isn't included in the update - please pray for the current xenophobic violence that is going on in South Africa. It has been particularly bad in our area with many people being beaten up and displaced from their homes as well as businesses owned by foreigners being vandalised and looted. These crimes are only occurring in the townships so we have been unaffected, praise God, but there are many in our congregation who have been directly affected and the whole situation is very serious.

We are praying that God will bring a swift end to these problems and that long term solutions will be put into place as this is the second time in two years that major xenophobic incidents have taken place in South Africa. We know God is bigger than all of this and we are really trusting that He will do something wonderful through these tragic events.
