Project 037 - Children's Bible Camps 2009

Pastor Peter Bevz's camp in the Ukraine attracts up to a hundred children & his camps are usually held under canvas. Many of the children are badly malnourished as the area is still suffering with radioactive poisoning caused by the explosion from Chernobyl in 1986.

The main aim of every Siloam's Bible camp is to bring children into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our goal is to prevent children embarking on a life of crime or becoming addicted to alcohol tobacco and more harmful drugs.

Interesting Bible studies tailored towards the understanding of children in each country according to their age. This group in Poland learn valuable Bible lessons relevant to today's world.

Finding a sweet in a bowl of flour with just your mouth may be just a silly game. But, our aim is to teach children to discover the truth of the Bible and to find out how a confrontation with Jesus Christ can change their lives and make them into positive upright citizens.

And, there is time for silly games like trying to feed your companion with yogurt while you yourself are blindfolded.

Much attention is paid towards the memory of scriptures. During the evening meetings in Bulgaria, as in other countries, children are encouraged to recite the Bible verses they have memorised.

Every year more children give their lives to Christ when they are given the opportunity at the final meeting of the camp. Your gift will help rescue another child from a certain christless eternity.

This will be the 25th anniversary of our children’s Bible camps in Eastern Europe and Portugal. Provisionally we are holding to the same budget that we worked to last summer but we will make economies over the summer if we need to, once we see how the level of income is realised.

Please help us to motivate others to also support this Bible camp ministry which is so vital for reaching the hearts and minds of young children and teenagers before they reach the age when their characters are firmed up 'forever.'

It's well known that most people become Christians before the age of 21 and after that birthday it becomes more difficult for a person to come to Christ simply because the dominant influences of negative lifestyles often crowd out the godly influences so many of us experience at a younger, tender and impressionable age.

The first Bible camp we will guarantee to promote for will be Bulgaria, where £8,000.00 is required. Following this, the Ukraine £7,000.00 will be in line followed by Poland £7,000.00 and Portugal £5,000.00.

Perhaps you are a person of influence in that you could perhaps organise a Bible camp collection in your church or fellowship or may be you could arrange a special fundraising event in your school or office just so these young people can enjoy a brief time away from their negative home environments.

Whatever you can do to make this message more widely known will be very much appreciated, and not the least by the hundreds of young people desperate for a chance to get away and spend a time at camp where they will be able to be counselled and comforted.

With the breakdown of marriage, the redundancy of parents and the increasing sense of lawlessness there is an even greater need for this ministry than ever before.

Over the years we have helped thousands of young people enjoy a time away at camp, we have seen many young men coming into the ministry in Eastern Europe and Portugal which is a direct result of them previously attending a children's Bible camp funded by Siloam supporters like you.

I will rely on the Holy Spirit to work on your heart and mind as He convinces you of the validity of helping to reach a young person for Christ by making it possible for them to attend one of our 2009 children's Bible camps.

Remember, this our 25th anniversary what better way of helping us celebrate this milestone in our ministry than by making a special contribution to Siloam's project: 037 right now.

Yours sincerely on behalf of the many children who need to be reached for Christ while there is still time.
