Child Sponsorship in Kenya to the Spirit of Faith Christian Centre

Dear Friends,

The Spirit of Faith Christian Centre is headed up by an American missionary Dick West and his Kenyan born wife Maggie. They look after more than 80 children at the centre which is situated at Rurui on the outskirts of Nairobi. Most of the children who come to the centre are from very deprived backgrounds. Some of the children are the offspring of prostitutes from Nairobi, others come from broken homes or from mothers who can't cope any more due to severe poverty. The home is actually a residential school although some of the older pupils are sponsored to attend colleges outside the centre in normal education. A sponsorship gift of £20.00 per month covers all the costs of accommodation, transport, medical expenses, food, school expenses including tuition and uniform etc... Photographs are usually sent to the sponsors on an annual basis and the children are happy to send letters to the sponsors as part of their regular English lessons. Half sponsorships are also available at £10.00 per month providing a sponsor does not mind sharing with another.

Most of our sponsors find the sponsorship programme a very rewarding commitment and the regular gifts that are sent overseas do make a real difference to the child we hope you will come to sponsor. Even if you are only able to commit yourself to one or two years of sponsorship, this can make a real difference to a child in Kenya. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
